S.S. Lazio, the lowest point in its history. I've lived 52 years of these years. I've seen Lazio beautiful, I've seen Lazio ugly, I've crossed joys and sorrows. But a desperate situation like that of today, from the fans, I had never lived. For a laziale, deserting the stadium is going against nature. Not going to the derby has been one of the darkest pages of our recent history. And all this happens because of a management that has been going in a direction that the fan struggles to recognize as his own for years, but especially in the last periods. The problem is not just technical, although it is true that the depletion of the squad has brought Lazio to the margins of the Italian championship. The more serious truth is another: the fans no longer feel represented by this president. A Lazio president should be proud of his fan base, and the fans should be proud of who leads them. Instead, between questionable statements on supporters, players, and especially on our history, this ownership has shown that it does not love Lazio, does not love those who follow it, does not even love its past. If Lazio's world is burning, I do not want to address the president directly, because in these years he has shown that he does not take into account the requests of the square. He has also shown it in the last four months, when he could have taken a step towards the fans and instead chose not to. When he declares 'we'll make a reason if the fans don't come' you understand everything: a situation that seems to him, in the end, to be going well. It's like blaming the fan if in the future certain players will not arrive, as if the exodus from the stands were an abandonment and not a protest. I want to reiterate with force: Lazio fans are extraordinary and have not abandoned the team. They are close to the team. They are against this president and this management. The Lazio fan is one who, historically, has always been close to the president, the ownership, the management. He wants to feel a single body with the team. If the Lazio fan is not told lies, if you are transparent with him, you will find him ready to fill the Olimpico in eighty thousand and to follow the team in away games in ten thousand, regardless of the results. Of course, results count, especially for the new generations, who need to feel represented by champions who today do not have. But the historical fan is already there, he does not ask to win at all costs. He asks to be proud of his colors, of a 126-year-old history, of names like Piola, Lovati, Mihajlovic, Giuliano Fiorini, Giorgio Chinaglia, Vincenzo D'Amico, and also, I say it, my father. All people who have sweated blood for this jersey, maybe making mistakes in some cases, but with an attachment to the colors always evident. If I can give a piece of advice to the president, and especially to those who surround him, it is simple. Tell him to take a step back. Tell him to listen. Tell him that he must do it for the good of Lazio, the fans, the entire environment. Another step back, and maybe we can still save Lazio.
