S.S. Lazio is navigating a complex season, with Maurizio Sarri's "football philosophy" not entirely fitting the current squad, as admitted by director Angelo Fabiani. Further complicating matters, a significant number of injuries have hampered the team ahead of their visit to Napoli.

The match against Napoli kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 17:00 UK time (18:00 CEST). The Biancocelesti aim to climb into the top 10 of the Serie A standings, but their focus is also split by another crucial commitment.

On Wednesday, S.S. Lazio must prepare for the Coppa Italia semi-final against Atalanta. After the 2-2 first leg at the Stadio Olimpico, qualification will be decided in Bergamo, potentially representing their only path back into Europe for next season.

Angelo Fabiani, S.S. Lazio director, told DAZN Italia: "This is a big game, we care about this, the club, the coach, the players, and want a good performance. Then we will think about the Coppa Italia."

Fabiani elaborated on the difficult year: "It has been a difficult season with 45 injuries, so we had to make do, because inevitably you’re going to drop points when missing players like Zaccagni and Rovella for long periods."

The director concluded by describing the campaign as a "zero year," a "reconstruction campaign, going from the older figures to young players who should provide the future for the club."
